Background and Discussion:
Public Health Services is seeking approval to create one new position (Intake Team Lead) in the IDCU COVID CARES/Expansion. The Intake Team Lead will provide oversight to our HCPH's disease surveillance and reporting activities, involving uploading or inputting data, laboratory results, and demographic information for cases of notifiable conditions monitored by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) Emerging and Acute Infectious Disease Unit (EAIDU). This addition to our current workforce will enhance our capabilities to ensure accurate surveillance and reporting of both routine disease occurrences and outbreak situations.

Expected Impact:
This item will have an impact of $104,652 for FY25 and an annualized impact of $118,302. The increase in personnel expenses will be covered by existing grant funds.
