Background and Discussion:
This grant program accepted (6) activities including (5) buses and electric refueling Infrastructure for fleet services, effective the date contract is signed which needs to be June 17, 2024, to meet deadline requirement by funder. There is no required match. The TCEQ TxVemp provides financial incentives to replace or repower diesel vehicles with new, all-electric models along with supporting infrastructure. These funds will help reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions and reduce the potential for exposure of the public to pollutants.
Expected Impact:
Decommission (5) diesel engine vehicles and replace them with Electric vehicles. This project will strive to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions and will prepare for the increased and sustained use of Zero Emission Vehicles.
Alternative Options:
The diesel engine vehicles may be replaced over time with new electric vehicles as funds are available through the annual budget request process.
