Request by the Constable of Precinct 4 for approval to add one classification to the Constable's salary structure for the rank of "Detective" and reclassify fourteen (14) positions to Detective effective November 16, 2024.

Background and Discussion:
On September 12, 2023, as part of the budget amendments, Commissioners' Court approved the request code 2209 "Establish the rank of Detective with the Sheriff's Office". Commissioners' Court approved a new stepped pay scale for this rank on October 08, 2024. In an effort to maintain the established fair and equitable pay within all Harris County Law Enforcement agencies, we request this same rank of detective and connected salary scale be utilized by the trained, full time, investigators of the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Office and applied fully to the Harris County Law Enforcement Salary Plan.
