Background and Discussion:
The project is located in the City of Houston limits and is a joint participation project with Buffalo Bayou Partnership. Scientech Engineers, Inc. was awarded a contract to provide a Corridor Study to investigate the addition of a mixed use trail/bikeway along Navigation Boulevard from Lockwood Drive to Mack Street. Based on that agreement, Scientech has submitted the final study report on September 3rd, 2024.

Expected Impact:
The project will convert one existing travel lane in each direction on Navigation Boulevard to be able to provide for a wider center median which will provide for a new 12 feet dedicated bike and pedestrian route, thereby improving access to transit. It will include the addition of new six (6) feet sidewalks on both the north and south side of Navigation Boulevard, new Signal at Mac Farland and Navigation and partial augmentations to existing storm sewers and inlets to improve the drainage.

Alternative Options:
The County could elect to approve or choose to reject the study recommendations. However, if not approved, the design plans cannot be completed as recommended in the study.

_ Economic Opportunity
_ Housing
_ Public Health
