Request by the Flood Control District for approval to accept an amendment to an agreement with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (FEMA) to extend the grant end date to September 30, 2025, for the FY 2020 Cooperating Technical Partners Special Project Initiative Program.

Background and Discussion:
This is a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Cooperating Technical Partners Special Project grant that includes outreach and education efforts to compliment the MAAPnext effort. This grant includes funding for outreach activities related to the MAAPnext effort which have yet to start because the Preliminary data for MAAPnext has not yet been released by FEMA. We are requesting a 1-year extension to the Period of Performance.

Expected Impact:
If the period of performance is extended, the Flood Control District will be able to perform education and outreach tasks agreed upon in the Mapping Activity Statement with FEMA.

Alternative Options:
The alternative would be that the period of performance ends on September 30, 2023, and the Flood Control District fails to complete the scope of work we have committed to with FEMA.

Alignment with Goal(s):
_ Justice and Safety
_ Economic Opportunity
_ Housing
_ Public Health
_ Transportation
X Flooding
_ Environment
_ Governance and Customer Service
