Background and Discussion:
The Harris County Toll Road Authority (HCTRA) mission is to responsibly operate and maintain a safe, reliable, sustainable, and evolving mobility system that meets the diverse connectivity needs of all Harris County residents. This Wrong-way Detection Systems (WWDS) will be used to monitor, detect, and alert HCTRA's Incident Management Center when a vehicle has been detected driving in the wrong direction along the main lanes and ramps.

Expected Impact:
These WWDS systems will assist in providing a safer drive along the Westpark Tollway by alerting law enforcement of a wrong-way movement in order to give them a chance to intercept a vehicle before an accident occurs.
