Background and Discussion:
The County has the ability to recommend two candidates to the Mayor of the City of Houston for nomination and appointment to the TIRZ 20 Board as a result of the Court's approval of an interlocal agreement between the County, the City, the TIRZ, and the Southwest Houston Redevelopment Authority. Since TIRZ 20 is largely within the boundaries of Precinct 4, the commissioner of that precinct may nominate individuals for the positions as provided in the adopted Boards and Commissions Uniform Board Policies and Procedures, Section 8, D. Appointment Process.
Expected Impact:
Ensures representation of Harris County's interests on the TIRZ 20 Board. If approved by the Court, this appointment will replace prior court action stemming from item 471 on the February 27, 2024, court agenda.
