Background and Discussion:
The Texas Administrative Code, Chapter 97, Subchapter H173, mandates that all employees and volunteers,
who work in a jail environment, be tested annually for Tuberculosis (TB). This agreement will assist HCSO
employees with compliance, by providing on-site testing for detection of mycobacterium tuberculosis using
the preferred QuantiFERON - TB Gold In-Tube test (QFT-GIT) method.
