Background and Discussion:
This project includes new construction of two buildings and site development on a 3.268-acre site at 3131 Gulf Freeway. The residential building is a three story 50-unit building for youth aging out of foster care with community space, kitchen, a small gym, a business center, and private study rooms. The other building is a one-story commercial building for wrap-around services, including huddle/meeting rooms, a computer lab, life skills training rooms, administrative offices, administrative and building support. The two buildings are connected by a covered walkway. Site development includes underground detention below surface parking and outdoor landscaped areas.

Expected Impact:
Changes allow the completion of the project in accordance with the original intent of the project. Changes include increasing the construction contract from $24,182,716.04 to $24,230,610.76. This request will be funded by the already approved 2017 CDBG-DR funds for the residential building portion and treasury ARPA funds for the services building portion.

Alternative Options:
Commissioners court could delay approval, not allowing the project to be completed as intended.

Alignment with Goal(s):
_ Justice and Safety
_ Economic Opportunity
