Background and Discussion:
This project was approved on Commissioners Court on 10/13/2020. Improvements include interior renovation of the office suite, adding emergency shower drains, and upgrading the laboratory suite to 100% operational during a disaster event, which includes a water tank for domestic water and a new 1000 kW emergency generator for electricity.

This change in contract provides additional general conditions as well as necessary materials, equipment and labor for additional safety requirements inside the suite, additional requirements by the City of Pasadena, and additional cost associated with electrical shut-down for the new generator. This comes to a total of $52,783.04 and additional 273 calendar days.

Expected Impact:
Upon completion of the project, Harris County Pollution Control Services will be able to maintain full operations during major disaster and storm events. The requested changes allow the completion of the project in accordance with the original intent of the project.
