Background and Discussion:
This is a request to authorize negotiation for an agreement that will provide Preliminary Engineering services for Cypress Park Stormwater Detention Basin Extension. The proposed Cypress Park SWDB extension, K500-01-00, is located west of N. Eldridge Parkway on the north bank of Cypress Creek. This project is the largest proposed basin in the Cypress Creek Project Implementation Plan, and may provide up to 4,620 ac-ft. This project occurs in the 3rd quartile under the 2022 Prioritization Framework approved by Commissioners Court.

Expected Impact:
The project seeks to reduce flood risks and strengthen resiliency in the Cypress Creek watershed by removing structures, roadways, and land for a range of flood events up to and including 100-year Atlas 14 storm event.

Alternative Options:
They are no viable alternative to the requested item. If this project is not approved for PER, existing conditions would not be improved, and the flood risk would remain the same or increase due to ongoing flood events.
