Background and Discussion:
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) opened a call for grant applications for the 2024 Local Parks Urban Indoor Recreation grant program in Spring 2024. The application is to be submitted by the County to TPWD by August 1, 2024. Award notification is expected early 2025.
If the grant application is approved, the TPWD Local Parks Program funds will be used for upgrading the interior of John Paul's Landing Environmental Education Center. The goal of the improvements will be to expand, enhance and redevelop the exhibit space to maximize educational impact and engagement for visitors.
