Background and Discussion:
The project is located along the tributaries of the Cypress Creek watershed and is the third project that is part of the Major Maintenance of Cypress Creek and Tributaries effort. It will remove sediment and repair areas where erosion and infrastructure damage has occurred during the Harvey and Memorial Day storms.
Expected Impact:
This project seeks to reduce flood risks and strengthen resiliency in Harris County by alleviating property and structural damages to the adjacent community. The objective is to make sure the channel and tributaries function at their design capacity. This will reduce the financial, physical, and emotional burden flood damages place on homeowners. It will also reduce the financial impact of recovery costs to Harris County and federal insurance program.
