Background and Discussion:
GreyKey is a software program required to unlock cellphones involved in criminal cases by the Digital Forensic Unit of the Harris County District Attorney's Office. This contract renewal with Magnet Forensics is necessary to the procurement process for this software renewal to be completed successfully, allowing the DFI Unit to continue their work without interruption in services.
Expected Impact:
The continuation of this GreyKey License would allow the DFI Unit to continue providing digital forensic evidence to the District Attorney's office and other, external police agencies that require our DFI Unit's support.
