Background and Discussion:
The Harris County Public Defender's Office Board was created by Order of Harris County Commissioners Court dated September 14, 2010, to recommend the selection of the Chief Defender for the Harris County Public Defender's Office and thereafter monitor the office's progress.
Expected Impact:
Appointment to a vacant position assigned to and previously appointed by Precinct 4, which will enable continuity of operations and leadership on the board. Because this vacancy occurred due to a board member's resignation, the successor should serve out the remainder of the former member's unexpired term as prescribed by Board & Commission's Policies & Procedures.
