Background and Discussion:
Project includes the reconstruction of Hufsmith-Kohrville Road from Hollow Glen Lane to 500' North of Ezekiel from 2 lane asphalt road to 4 lane concrete curb and gutter boulevard with 32' raised median with traffic signals at Lacey Road and Ezekiel Road. There are two outfalls within limits of the project, North Pointe Boulevard and Champion Wood Drive detention ponds.
Change will allow replacing of reinforced concrete pipe to polypropylene pipe. Polypropylene pipe was recently added to Harris County specifications and the contractor requested to replace reinforced concrete pipe with polypropylene through submittal. This change will require less maintenance and greater longevity that will save a significant amount of money to Harris County in the long run.
