Background and Discussion:
The above is a housing discrimination complaint by a landowner involving mandatory acquisition by the Harris County Flood Control District under the Harris County Project Recovery Post Disaster Relocation and Buyout Program. After negotiations with HUD, the parties agreed to enter into a Voluntary Compliance Agreement which resolves the complaint(s). The Real Property Division of the Engineering Department, Harris County Flood Control District, and Housing and Community Development Department have reviewed the settlement, and this settlement is acceptable to them. An order authorizing the settlement of this lawsuit is attached for use by the Court if it decides it would be in the County's best interest to settle this claim.
