Background and Discussion: The Harris County Public Library participates in the statewide Interlibrary Loan
program. To offset the cost of participation, TSLAC provides an annual reimbursement/grant that varies
depending on the number of loans we facilitate.
Expected Impact: This annual grant provides much-needed funds to cover the cost of shipping materials
across the state by our Interlibrary Loan department. It will reduce the amount of General Fund monies this
program would otherwise require to maintain.
Alternative Options: The library could reject the funds and request additional General Fund monies.
