Background and Discussion:
The purpose of this acquisition is to secure additional acreage required for a stormwater detention basin, which is needed for mitigating downstream water surface elevation impacts in the C144-00-00 channel. These impacts result from the Harris County Engineering Department's installation of a Reinforced Concrete Box (RCB) beneath Anderson Road.

Expected Impact:
In addition, mitigating downstream water surface elevation impacts in the C144-00-00 channel, the basin is expected to remove 57 structures, 20.08 acres, and 0.12 miles of road from the 100-yr floodplain.

Alternative Options:
The alternative is rejecting/denying this request for acquisition, which will potentially prevent the structure from being built and implementation of the project.
