Background and Discussion:
This change in contract is needed to complete the construction contract for this project. The Lauder Stormwater Detention Basin - Phase 2 project consists of excavating the southern compartment of a stormwater detention basin within the former Castlewood subdivision to reduce flooding along the P138-00-00 channel that drains to Greens Bayou. The purpose of this contract change is to add inclement weather days as the current contract has exceeded the original number of inclement weather days.
This project occurs in the 3rd quartile on the 2022 Prioritization Framework approved by Commissioners Court.
Expected Impact:
This change will allow the contractor to construct the project so that Harris County can realize intended flood risk reduction benefits. The project improves the flow of water through the channel and watershed.
