Background and Discussion:
On October 10, 2023, Commissioners Court accepted a total of $1,940,740 in FY 2023 Port Security Grant
Program funds. Out of that amount, the Harris County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) has been awarded $149,981 for
maritime security risk mitigation in accordance with Investment Justification No. 3. The total award of
$149,981 consists of $112,485 in FY 2023 PSGP grant funds with a match of $37,496 from the Houston Ship
Channel Security District.
Expected Impact:
This grant will provide funding to complete the program priorities that will buy down risks associated with PSGP Homeland Security guidelines.
