Background and Discussion:
This request is to move PCN 10020345 from Fund 2151 to the General Fund, Fund 1000 as approved during FY24 CLS department submission. This position was previously funded through a joint fund (2151) contributed by Juvenile Probation, Domestic Relations, and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension. The fund was eliminated, and the position has remained vacant since 01/02/2023. Department 821 requested to have the position fully funded by general fund 1000 and the request was approved as part of the FY24 Approved Budget.
Expected Impact:
This position will serve the Youth Outreach component of our departmental educational goal to reach underserved and justice-involved youth. This position will work with the Juvenile Probation Department in all facilities (Youth Village, Opportunity Center, Leadership Academy, etc.) to provide educational programming in the areas of health and wellness, nutrition, gardening, STEM and STEAM education.
