Background and Discussion:
This grant would provide overtime funding for the Child Abuse Unit during the grant award period of October 1, 2024 through September 30, 2025.
Expected Impact:
The number of cases that the Child Abuse Unit receives far outnumbers the amount of cases that can be handled during normal working hours. Providing overtime funding for the unit would assist with the current backlog of cases.
Alternative Options:
If we do not apply for this grant, the Sheriff's Office will forfeit the opportunity to receive overtime funding for the Child Abuse Unit.
