Background and Discussion: The Prado Woods Subdivision Drainage Improvements project is in northwest Harris County, within the Cypress Creek Watershed. The subdivision is serviced by a single road, Prado Street, west of Grant Road. The existing storm water drainage system consists primarily of open ditches which ultimately outfalls to HCFCD Unit No. K100-00-00. This project includes the installation of underground drainage utilities, reconstruction of existing concrete pavement and driveways throughout the Prado Woods Subdivision.

Expected Impact: This project seeks to strengthen resiliency in Harris County by assisting in the alleviation of structural flood damage to homes in the Prado Woods Subdivision. The fiscal impact for this project will come from the 1080 Funding for the Recovery and Resiliency Division subdivision projects with the long-term goal of reducing drainage costs in the future.

Alternative Options: The County could elect to approve the requested task or choose to reject it. However, if not approved, the project cannot be constructed.
