Background and Discussion:
The TCEQ TxVemp provides financial incentives to replace or repower short range diesel vehicles with new, all-electric models along with supporting infrastructure. These funds will help reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions and reduce the potential for exposure of the public to pollutants. The grant will pay for the incremental project cost consisting of 5 electric vehicles and for light duty ZEV supply equipment.

Expected Impact:
Decommission (5) diesel engine vehicles and replace them with Electric vehicles. This project will strive to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions and will prepare for the increased and sustained use of Zero Emission Vehicles.

Alternative Options:
The diesel engine vehicles may be replaced over time with new electric vehicles as funds are available through the annul budget request process.
