Background and Discussion:
The throw-able rugged robot is funded through FY 2023 UASI eGrant Number: 4347303. The award was accepted by Commissioners Court on October 10, 2023. The throw-able rugged robot investigates will provide situational awareness, perform persistent observation, and investigates dangerous and hazardous material while keeping its operator out of harm's way. The rugged lightweight robot can be inserted into structures and provides operators with visual, audio, and sensor feedback.
Expected Impact:
The goal of this purchase is to sustain a Type II Special Weapons and Tactics team by replacing ineffective and outdated equipment as well as advance members' abilities to combat terrorism through means of training. This grant funded purchase will have no impact to the general fund.
