Background and Discussion:
Miller Road 2 -from Wallisville Road to US 90- is currently surfaced using Hot Mix Asphalt Concrete (HMAC). The existing road surface is in a state of disrepair due to the significant number of heavy vehicles traversing the corridor, access various adjacent heavy industrial developments.
Harris County intends to provide improvements to Miller Road 2. The pavement is planned to be re-constructed from asphalt to concrete pavement using Joint Plain Concrete Pavement (JPCP), an alternative concrete pavement treatment not used in the Houston area before but elsewhere in Texas and the nation.
Mar-Con Services, LLC -if awarded- will construct the project.

Expected Impact:
The agreement will allow the contractor to conduct the required construction scope, and the project will improve safety for motorist, and improve roadway condition, and provide a longer life surfacing treatment, as compared to the existing asphalt surface, thus reducing maintenance requirements by the Precinct.
