Background and Discussion:
The Harris Center Board of Trustees acts as the governing body of the Harris Center in accordance with Sec. 534.001 of the Texas Health and Safety Code. The Harris Center is the publicly-funded, local provider of community based behavioral health and intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) services for Harris County and the surrounding region.
Expected Impact:
Appointment to a vacant position assigned to and previously appointed by the County Judge which will enable continuity of operations and leadership on the board. Because this vacancy occurred due to a board member's resignation, the board's bylaws establish the incoming nominee should serve out the remainder of the former member's unexpired term.
