Background and Discussion:
The HAY Center works with youth and young adults ages 14 through 25 who are currently in or have aged out of the foster care system. The HAY Center provides wraparound services that include supportive case management, education, employment, housing, mentorship, and services to address well-being.
These funds will be used to support the academic, housing, and workforce needs of the youth receiving services through the HAY Center.
Purchases will be made by repurposing gift cards originally procured for the COVID-19 Vaccine Incentive Program.
Expected Impact: Improved living situations, educational outcomes, and employment for transitional aged youth.
Alternative Options: Without additional funding, impacted youth may have longer wait times to receive supplies needed for housing (first-time apartment essentials), education (laptop bundle), and job readiness equipment.
