Background and Discussion:
On October 31, Commissioners Court created five new positions to expand the Office of Sustainability. The Energy Manager position was created to be funded by the Energy Efficiency Revolving fund. The increased budget granted by Commissioners Court for the expansion was in the general fund so we are requesting to move the position into the general fund.
Expected Impact:
Moving the position into the general fund will allow us to fill the Energy Manager position and expand the work of the division.
Alternative Options:
Court could increase funding for the Energy Efficiency Revolving Fund to fund the position or direct the Office of County Administration to create a separate position in the general fund.
