Request by the Sheriff's Office that the County Judge execute a memorandum of understanding with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for the purpose of delineating responsibilities of the Violent Crimes Task Force (VCTF) personnel to formalize relationships between participating agencies and maximize interagency cooperation.

Background and Discussion:
To accomplish the objectives of Violent Crimes Task Force, the Harris County Sheriff's Office personnel will identify and target for prosecution of individuals and criminal enterprise groups responsible for violations of state and/or federal law as well as pursue dangerous fugitives where there is or may be a federal investigative interest.
Expected Impact:
The agreement will expand the Sheriff's Office Violent Crimes Task Force (VCTF) to enhance the effectiveness of federal/state/local law enforcement resources through well-coordinated investigations seeking the most effective investigative/prosecuted avenues by which to conduct and incarcerate dangerous offenders.
